Coolattas don't have to be that bad.
Order your Coolatta with skim milk instead of cream and the saturated fat goes to zero. The taste shouldn't suffer any, although you may lose a little of the creaminess - but this is a good thing in this case.
Even whole milk means five grams of saturated fat in the large.
Make Your Own Coolatta
Save fat and calories without sacrificing taste.
1-1/4 cup strong brewed coffee*, cold
1 cup 1-percent or skim milk
5 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 tablespoon hazelnut or caramel syrup
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
2-1/2 cups ice cubes
*To make the strong coffee, brew it using twice the amount of grounds your normally would use. Chill in the fridge until the coffee is nice and cold.
Combine the cold coffee, milk, sugar, syrup, hazelnut caramel syrup, vanilla and almond extract in a blender. Blend on low speed for one minute. Pour into a tall 24-ounce glass or two 12-ounce glasses.
