A perfectly simple recipe for simple apple dumplings baked in a sweet cinnamon sauce. Roll in dough and bake for a tasty treat.
One recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
6 apples, peeled and cored
3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup water
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter
Preheat oven to 400-degrees.
To make the sauce: In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, cinnamon and butter. Bring to a boil and continue to cook five minutes.
Roll dough out and cut into 6 pieces. Wrap each apple in dough and place in a baking pan. Pour sauce over the wrapped apples.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
Recipe makes 6 servings. Sugars 22 grams.
