To Make Sugar Syrup
Sugar syrup (aka simple syrup) is a solution of sugar and water that is cooked over low heat until clear, then boiled for a minute or so. It can be made in various densities:
- Thin: 3 parts water to 1 part sugar
- Medium: 2 parts water to 1 part sugar
- Heavy: equal parts water and sugar
The green tea in this recipe may help weight loss! New evidence is emerging that green tea can even help dieters. The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition published the results of a study at the University of Geneva in Switzerland in which Researchers found that men who were given a combination of caffeine and green tea extract burned more calories than those given only caffeine or a placebo. Green tea can even help prevent tooth decay! Just as its bacteria destroying abilities can help prevent food poisoning, it can also kill the bacteria that causes dental plaque.
