Grapefruit Fizz Recipe
To make this sipper a colorful, two-toned drink - drizzle it with grenadine syrup and serve it unstirred. Grenadine is a strong red syrup made from red currants and pomegranates. It is a useful ingredient for many cocktails, acting as both a coloring and a sweetener.
Do note however, there are brands on the market that use high fructose corn syrup as the leading ingredient with "natural and artificial flavors" standing in for the pomegranate juice. Specialty stores or an online search may give you the most options for finding a high quality grenadine.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup frozen grapefruit juice concentrate, thawed
1 1-liter bottle carbonated water or tonic water, chilled
Grenadine syrup (optional)
Directions:
Pour thawed grapefruit juice concentrate into a pitcher. Gently stir in the chilled carbonated water. If desired, add grenadine syrup to each glass. Serve at once.
Recipe makes 4 (6-ounce) servings.
