Healthy Milk Beverage

Milk

Ingredients:
2 cups fat free skim or 1% lowfat milk
1 tablespoon sugar
2 cups strong, freshly brewed coffee
Cinnamon or grated chocolate, optional

Directions:

Place milk in 2-cup glass measuring cup. Microwave on 100 percent power (high) until hot, about 2 minutes 20 seconds. Place hot milk and sugar in a blender container. Cover with a vented lid and blend until frothy, about 1 minute. To serve, divide coffee among 4 cups. Top each with frothy milk. Sprinkle with cinnamon or grated chocolate. Makes 4 servings.

Nutritional facts: 60 calories, 4 g protein, 9 g carbohydrates, 0 g fat, 5 mg cholesterol, 60 mg sodium. Daily value 15 percent calcium.

Bonus "Treat" Recipe: Cappuccino Ice Cream Cakes

Ingredients:
Four prepared individual sponge cake shells
1/2 cup canned ready-to-spread chocolate fudge canned frosting
1 pint coffee ice cream
1/2 cup sweetened whipped cream
Ground cinnamon
Four cinnamon sticks, optional

Directions:
Line a small baking sheet with waxed paper. Place shells on prepared baking sheet; spread the tops and sides of the cake shells with chocolate fudge frosting. Fill the center of each frosted cake shell with a scoop of ice cream. Freeze the ice cream cakes until ready to serve.

Just before serving, place the ice cream cakes on individual dessert plates. Top each with whipped cream and sprinkle with ground cinnamon. Garnish with a cinnamon stick if desired; serve.
