This can be fun on a hot summer evening but be careful with the flames!
Ingredients:
1/3 cup unsalted butter
1/3 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
2 tablespoons lemon juice
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup banana-flavored liqueur
1/3 cup brandy
6 bananas, peeled and cut diagonally into 2-inch thick slices
1 quart fat-free ice cream
Directions:
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. When foam subsides, stir in orange juice, lemon juice and brown sugar. Simmer until mixture bubbles and coats a metal spoon (about three minutes).
Pour banana liqueur into mixture and ignite very carefully. When flames subside, add brandy and ignite again. When flames subside, add bananas and toss to coat.
To serve, divide ice cream among 8 serving bowls. Spoon sauce and coated bananas over each portion and serve immediately. Recipe makes eight servings.
