Pineapple and Strawberries in Port Recipe
Healthier Dessert Recipe
An out-of-the-ordinary fruit dessert that pleases the eye and palate. In Portuguese, this is known as "ANANAS COM MORANGOS EM PORTO".
Ingredients:
1 ripe pineapple, about 3 pounds, peeled,
cored, and cut into small wedges
2 pints fresh strawberries, washed, stems
removed, and quartered
1/4 cup ruby-red port
Pinch of ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1 heaping tablespoon rice syrup
Directions:
In a glass or ceramic bowl, mix all the ingredients.
Chill for several hours before serving.
Note: Qualifies as a vegetarian recipe.
