Skinny Sundae Sauce Dessert Recipe
Healthier Dessert Recipe
Ingredients:
Reduced or non fat vanilla ice cream or nonfat frozen yogurt - 1/2 cup
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 teaspooons cornstarch
2/3 cup fat free skim or 1% lowfat milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
First, cook up Hot Fudge Sauce per instructions below.
Scoop your 1/2 cup ice cream or frozen yogurt into a serving bowl and top with
Hot Fudge Sauce
In a small saucepan combine 3/4 cup sugar, 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, and 4 teaspoons cornstarch. Add 2/3 cup fat free skim or 1% lowfat milk. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 2 minutes more. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla. Serve warm or cool. Refrigerate any remaining sauce.
Recipe makes about 1 cup Hot Fudge Sauce.
If desired, sprinkle a few crushed nuts of choice or other favorite topping atop sauce.
