Fish Au Gratin

Whitefish for Fish Au Gratin

Fish Au Gratin with white fish fillets with chicken broth and a low fat creamy base come together for a truly healthful main dish.

Ingredients

3 pounds white fish fillets
1/2 cup fat free chicken broth
1 tablespoon butter
3 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1-1/4 cup light evaporated milk
1-1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 cup fat free shredded American cheese

Directions

Rinse fish and set aside.

In nonstick skillet over high heat, combine broth and butter. Add flour, mustard and nutmeg, stirring to mix. Gradually add milk; stirring constantly until sauce thickens. Add lemon juice and cheese. Stir until cheese is melted.

Place fish into slow cooker.

Pour sauce over fish, cover and cook on medium high for 2 hours or until fish flakes. Serve hot.
