  • Spice up your strawberry or orange Jell-O Gelatin with a bit of cinnamon.
  • Grate fresh nutmeg over Jell-O vanilla pudding, or over a hot fruit dessert topped with Cool Whip Whipped Topping (preferably lite or fat free if watching your weight).

Nutrition Nibbles

Unflavored gelatin - a key ingredient in JELL-O - is in fact an animal product that confers a number of excellent health benefits. In the autism community, for example, it is a popular remedy to help heal leaky gut syndrome (where the walls of the large intestine are porous), and studies have also found gelatin to be helpful in treating joint and tendon conditions.

Jell-O Tip

Never use fresh pineapple in a gelatin mold or the protein will be broken down and the gelatin will not gel. This is caused by the chemical bromelain, a potent protein tenderizer.
