First we have an easy three-healthy-ingredients recipe to create a tasty trail mix: Raisins, dried fruit (of your choice) and of course, popped popcorn. But if you want more "meat" in your popcorn trail mix, try the second recipe - both are delicious and great to take with you in snack bags when you're on the trail or just on the go.
8 ounces raisins
6 ounces diced, dried fruit (apricots, apples, etc.)
1 quart air popped popcorn
Set freshly popped popcorn in large bowl. Add diced fruit and raisins.
Toss popcorn and fruit until combined thoroughly.
Recipe makes 1 quart.

Variation: Popcorn Trail Mix II
High in both fiber and protein, this snack mix will keep you and your guests feeling full in the tummy and full of energy with just a few handfuls.
8 cups hot, plain popped popcorn
1 cup Cheerios
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup dry roasted peanuts
1/4 cup dry roasted sunflower seeds
1/4 cup butter
1-1/2 tablespoon light brown sugar
1-1/2 tablespoon sugar
Place popped corn in a large bowl. Pour butter, brown sugar and sugar in a small, glass measuring cup and microwave on high for 1 minute. Remove from the microwave, stir until blended and set aside.
Add peanuts to popcorn and toss. Line a baking pan with aluminum foil. Pour butter mixture over popcorn mixture and toss to coat. Spread popcorn on baking pan and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
Add Cheerios, raisins, cranberries and sunflower seeds and mix together.
