Three every day ingredients - Minute white rice with pork and beans and barbecue sauce for an Easy Rice and Beans.
1 7-ounce package Minute White Rice
1 15-ounce can pork and beans
1/4 cup barbecue sauce
Cook rice as directed on package.
Stir in pork and beans and barbecue sauce.
Cook until heated through, stirring occasionally.
Variation: Italian Rice and Beans
1 14.5 ounce can diced tomatoes with Italian herbs (do not drain)
1 14.5 ounce can Great Northern or cannellini beans, drained
2/3 cup instant rice
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Fresh pepper to taste
Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Cook 3 to 4 minutes, covered, over medium-high heat. Uncover pan and continue cooking 2 to 3 minutes, or until rice is tender. Dish is slightly saucy when completely cooked.
