Rich Island Chocolate Sauce combines cocoa powder with powdered sugar, granulated sugar, whipping cream, unsalted butter, vanilla extract and a dash of salt for this scrumptious chocolate sauce.
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup whipping cream
1/2 stick unsalted butter
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Sift powdered sugar into medium bowl. Place next 3 ingredients in medium saucepan over med-low heat until butter melts and sugar dissolves. Turn heat to medium-high and boil for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and stir in cocoa powder a with a whisk until smooth. Cool about 15 minutes until thickened and it falls heavily from a spoon.
Recipe makes approximately 1-1/2 cup.
