Carmelized Apples and Carrots Recipe
Healthy Side Dish Recipe
An excellent side dish for pork.
Ingredients:
3 medium apples
1 1/2 cups baby carrots
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons margarine
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions
Wash apples and carrots. Remove core and chop apples into small pieces and cut carrots in half. Place apples, carrots and water in a small saucepan. Cover and cook over medium heat until water starts to boil.
Reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes; drain. Add remaining ingredients, tossing gently until combined. Heat over medium heat for 3 minutes or until sugar is dissolved and a glaze forms.
Recipe makes 6 servings Carmelized Apples and Carrots.
