Use sourdough or multigrain bread along with cranberry sauce, sliced turkey, Cheddar cheese and a bit of butter to make these deliciously gooey Grilled Cheese Gobblers.
8 slices sourdough or multigrain bread
1/2 cup whole cranberry sauce
1/2 pound sliced turkey
1/4 pound thinly sliced mild or sharp Cheddar cheese
Spread 4 bread slices with cranberry sauce; top with turkey, cheese and remaining bread slices.
Lightly spread outsides of sandwiches with butter.
Cook in non-stick skillet over medium-low heat until browned on both sides.
Slice each sandwich into four small sandwiches, cutting off crusts if desired. If desired, add a piece of fresh lettuce or spinach.
Note: To keep the fat down, just use turkey breast meat - no dark.
Recipe makes 4 servings.
