Whole Wheat Bread for Alphabet Sandwich Crackers

Use whole wheat sliced bread for a nutritious boost to these fun Alphabet Sandwich Crackers. Kids of all ages will enjoy them! Fun to make with kids, too.

Ingredients

4 slices soft whole wheat sliced bread
4 to 8 slices part-skim mozzerella or American cheese
Optional vegetables, pepperoni, olives

Crackers:
Your children's favorite crackers
Canned, processed cheese spread

Utensils Needed: Alphabet or other cookie cutters

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cut each slice of bread into letters or initials - perhaps spelling your child's name; place on a baking sheet. (Save leftover bread for stuffing or bread pudding).

Cut cheese with the same cookie cutter and place directly on top of the bread. Decorate with pieces of vegetables, pepperoni or olives.

Bake for 3 to 4 minutes just until cheese is soft but does not run down the sides. Cool slightly before serving.

Alternatively, simply decorate the crackers with either numbers or letters to help your children learn in a fun and tasty way!
