Use whole wheat pita breads to make a healthful snack of Crispy Pita Chips to satisify your next munchie craving.
3 6-inch whole wheat pita breads
Separate each pita into 2 rounds and cut each round into 8 wedges.
Place wedges on an ungreased baking sheet; bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Remove and allow to cool.
Serve with salsa, black bean dip, or another dip.
Recipe makes 4 servings.

Variation: Pita Triangles
4 small whole wheat pita breads, cut into eighths
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon herbes de Provence
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Lightly brush each pita eighth with oil and sprinkle with the herbes de Provence and salt. Place the triangles on a baking sheet. Transfer to the oven and cook until lightly golden, about 5 minutes. Eat immediately or set aside to cool. Serves 8, 8 triangles per serving.

Blend together your favourite blend of spices and include some sea salt. Get creative and mix things up until you have a taste you like. (A basic example: garlic powder, dill, onion powder and sea salt.) Make a large batch up and blend some of this with your favourite choice of oil. Brush onto the pita or tortilla and bake until crisp. These make a great healthy alternative to potato chips and crackers.
