Ginger Iced Tea

Fresh ginger root

A strong Ginger Iced Tea, made with fresh ginger. Following is a tasty variation called Ice Berry Spice Tea, spiced with cloves and cinnamon along with cranberry juice for berry-goodness.

Ingredients

5 tea bags
1-inch piece fresh ginger
Sugar, to taste

Directions

Slice ginger root into thin slices and crush.

Heat 1 quart of water and let tea steep with the ginger. Let steep over low heat for at least 10 minutes.

Strain out tea and ginger slices and add sugar. Let cool and serve over ice.

Ice Berry Spice Tea

Iced Berry Spiced Tea

3 bags of tea
3 cups boiling water
1/3 cup sugar
3 4-inch cinnamon sticks
15 whole cloves
1-1/2 cups cranberry juice
3 slices of lemon

Pour boiling water over tea bags in heat-safe pitcher. Steep for five minutes and strain; discard bags. Add sugar, cinnamon sticks and cloves. Cover and let stand until cool.

Strain again and add juice.

Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices. Recipe makes 4 servings.
