Garlic Green Beans

Cooked Green Beans

Garlic Green Beans with French cut green beans in a very flavorful and healthful garlic inspired marinade base.

Ingredients

Beans:
3 1-pound cans French cut green beans
or
2 small bags frozen French cut green beans
or
3 boxes frozen French cut green beans

Marinade:
2/3 cup oil
1/2 cup sugar
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon salt

Directions

Note: Make this dish one day ahead of time.

If frozen beans are used, cook them first.

Mix the marinade ingredients together and toss with the green beans.

Heat through thoroughly before serving.

Recipe Note

This recipe makes enough for a crowd, but can be cut down for two to four servings if needed.

Recipe makes 10-12 servings.

Garlic Carrots

Peeled baby carrots 1 pound baby carrots
2 garlic cloves
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
Dash pepper

In a skillet, saute carrots and garlic in oil for five minutes. Add water, salt, thyme and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and cook for eight to twelve minutes or until carrots are tender. Recipe makes six servings.

Helpful Helper

You can cook green beans many ways, but whatever method you use, do not over cook. Otherwise, they will lose their brilliant color and crisp-tender bite.
