Cedar Nut Cookies Herbal Recipe

Cedar nut cookies

Herbal Satisfaction

Surprise everyone with the added healthful crunch of cedar pine nuts to your cookies! Add crushed or whole pine nuts and cranberries.


1/2 cup cedar (pine) nuts
2 cup whole wheat or spelt flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
3/4 cup maple syrup
3/4 cup honey
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups uncooked oat flakes
1 cup dried cranberries


Pine nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Sift flour, salt and baking soda. Set aside.

Beat butter, maple syrup, honey, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy.

Stir in flour mixture and oats until well combined. Add crushed or whole pine nuts and cranberries.

Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes; cool on wire rack. Makes 6 dozen.

Note: You can substitute raisins for the cranberries, if preferred.
