Waikaloa Breeze

This Waikaloa Breeze beverage has a little extra zing with the addition of Rum. If you're opposed to alcohol, you may wish to skip over this one. If you're NOT opposed to a splash of alcohol, this is a very refreshing, tasty beverage for outdoor gatherings (adults only, of course!). Enjoy!


1-1/4 cup tropical fruit juice (Such as passion-orange-guava)
1 cup thinly sliced hulled strawberries
1/2 cup gold rum
1/2 cup canned cream of coconut
1/4 cup half and half
Eight ice-cubes
Whole strawberries


Puree first six ingredients in blender.

Pour evenly into glasses.

Garnish with strawberries, if desired.

The Original Munch Mix Recipe

Enjoy a Waikaloa Breeze with some good company and The Original Munch Mix...

4 cups Post spoon size shredded wheat cereal
2 cups popped popcorn
1 cup small pretzels
1 cup mixed nuts
1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Place cereal, popcorn, pretzels and nuts in a 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pan. Sprinkle evenly with salad dressing mix.

Mix remaining ingredients; toss with cereal mixture. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes, stirring after 15 minutes. Recipe makes about eight cups snack mix.
