Bumble Bee Bread

Rhodes Rolls for Bumble Bee Bread

Bumble Bee Bread is a very attractive bread made super simple with the use of Rhodes rolls and a beaten egg.


4 Rhodes Rolls, thawed but still cold
1 egg, beaten


Combine 2 rolls to form an oval body. Place on a baking sheet sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.

Make 6 slashes across the body to make stripe marks.

Pinch the end to form a stinger. Form a head out of 2/3 of a roll and place next to the body.

With the remaining 1/3 form a rope. Divide the rope to shape 3 legs, 2 antennae and 2 eyes. Position eyes and antennas on head and legs below body.

With a knife, cut large smile in face. Stretch out smile so it won't close during baking. Cut remaining roll in half and form 2 flat teardrop shapes for wings. Cut criss-cross designs on each wing with a knife.

Position 1 wing underneath bee's back and the other one on top of the back. Brush with egg and let rise for 15 to 30 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees 15 to 20 minutes or until gold brown.
