A packaged yellow cake mix whips up this tender white wine cake but no one will guess you used a mix. The cake comes out so moist because of the wonderful glaze that leaks down all through the cake.
1 box yellow cake mix
1 small box instant vanilla pudding
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup vegatable oil
1/4 cup white wine
1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup white wine (set aside)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray tube pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Mix cake ingredients well; leaving out the pecans. Put pecans on the bottom of the tube pan. Pour in cake batter. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Bring all ingredients to a boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Take pan off heat and add 1/4 cup white wine that was set aside.
Set completed glaze aside until cake is done baking. Spoon 3/4 of glaze mixture on cake while still in the pan. Let set for 10 minutes.
Put cake in a dish of your choosing. Pour remaining glaze on top of cake.
