Grilled Southwestern Chicken Sandwiches

Chicken breasts for Grilled Southwestern Chicken Sandwiches

Grilled Southwestern Chicken Sandwiches made with grilled chicken breast halves, Salsa, cheese, shredded lettuce and tomato on an onion roll.


1/3 cup salsa or picante sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon bottled or fresh minced garlic
4 4-ounce skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
8 slices Monterey Jack or Mozzarella cheese
4 onion rolls, split
1 cup packed shredded lettuce
4 slices tomato


Prepare charcoal grill or heat gas grill to medium-high. Combine salsa, oil and garlic; brush over both sides of chicken.

Grill over medium-high heat for five minutes per side or until chicken is completely cooked.

Place cheese over chicken and place rolls, cut-side down on grill during last one minute of grilling.

Serve chicken in rolls topped with lettuce and tomato. Serve additional salsa on the side if desired.
