Ginger Oat Cookies

Ginger in Ginger Oat Cookies

Make up this healthful Ginger Oat Cookies in a snap with the use of baby food. Can also use a real, ripened banana if preferred. Spiced with ginger and cinnamon.


1-1/2 jar baby food with bananas
1/2 cup molasses
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 cup wheat flour
2 cups oats
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ginger
3 teaspoons cinnamon


Mix all ingredients well. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto lightly sprayed (non-fat spray) cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.

Recipe Note

  • For the 1-1/2 jars baby food, you can use pure banana, though most prefer using the baby food.
  • Use your favorite combination of banana/applesauce/prune puree. If you use only banana, make sure the banana is good and ripe, and microwave it slightly first to make it more liquid and easier to mix.
