Papayas in Papaya Gorp

Papayas are very healthful - enjoy them in this Papaya Gorp! They are fat free, very low in sodium, cholesterol free, a good source of fiber, high in Vitamin C and a good source of folate. Papaya (Carica papaya) has long been enjoyed as a delicious food, but is also now recognized as a safe and natural digestive aid.


1/2 cup banana chips
1/2 cup diced dried papaya
1/4 cup honey roasted peanuts
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
5 broken-up peanut butter granola bars


Mix well in a zipper-lock bag.

Recipe makes 3 cups.

Dried papaya is made from sound ripe papaya that are washed, trimmed, diced or sliced and dried. To store dried papaya, make sure you keep it somewhere that stays under 70 degrees. Papaya, when dried, may have been treated with sulfites. Always purchase organic dried papaya to avoid consuming sulfite.
