Italian Pretzels with miniature pretzel twists coated with a mixture of reduced fat margarine and spaghetti sauce, microwaved, then sprinkled with Parmesan.
2 cups miniature pretzel twists
1 tablespoon reduced fat margarine or Smart Balance
1-1/2 teaspoon spaghetti sauce mix
1-1/2 teaspoon grated fat-free Parmesan cheese
Note: If the reduction in fat obtained from using reduced fat margarine isn't of much concern to you, by all means use real butter.
Place pretzels in a microwave safe bowl.
Combine butter and spaghetti sauces mix; pour over pretzels and toss to coat evenly.
Microwave on high for two to three minutes or until pretzels are toasted, stirring every 30 seconds.
Immediately sprinkle seasoned pretzels with cheese.
Toss well but gently to coat. Cool.
Recipe makes 2 cups.
